Victories bring measure of relief

Many believe that anti-Arab and anti-Muslim sentiment after 9/11 may be easing as several people of Middle Eastern descent have been elected this year, among them Wayne State University alumnus Keith Ellison. The Minnesota resident, originally from Detroit, is the first Muslim to be elected to Congress, receiving 56 percent of the vote in his district.
